What You Should Expect From A Commercial Lawn Service

understanding citation mowing

Just for fun, do a Google search for “commercial lawn service,” or commercial lawn mowing services.  If you live in a city of any decent size, like Fort Worth, you will have dozens of responses to that Google search.

There’s an odd thing which happens when the economy takes a downturn. Suddenly there is a huge influx of commercial lawn mowing services plying their “trade.”  Any Tom, Dick, or Harry with a lawn mower and a pickup truck suddenly becomes a commercial mowers. Which leads to the questions: how do you find a qualified mower, and what should you expect from them?

We are going to help you with those questions in this article, we being Keith’s Tractor Mowing, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with twenty-five years of experience.  We may not know everything about commercial mowing, lot mowing, and quality acreage mowing, but we know enough to be taken seriously.

Proper equipment for the job you want done

Lawn services charge customers based on the time it takes to do a job and the distance they have to travel to the job. Those are the two main factors in bidding for a mowing job.  That seems cut and dried, but really it is totally dependent upon the equipment used for the job.  If your property is two acres in size, and a lawn service shows up with a residential TORO push mower, those two acres might take three hours to mow.  On the other hand, if the lawn service shows up with a tractor mower, one of the commercial TORO models, that same job will take one hour or less.  The difference will be reflected in the price quote.

A proven track record

We cannot emphasize this too much: ask for references and check up on those references. Check with the Better Business Bureau.  If they are a good lawn service company, they will have a solid reputation in the community.  If they are a poor lawn service company, they will have a poor reputation in the community. Good, and bad, news travels throughout any community.

We have nothing against start-up companies, but we do advise that you proceed with caution if you are considering hiring one.  Start-up companies, more times than not, simply do not have the expertise that established companies have.  It’s your hard-earned money you are paying; do you want to pay for experience or do you want to pay for inexperience?

And for goodness sake, make sure they have liability insurance to cover your property in case of mishap.  We carry $1,000,000 general liability insurance for any mowing job we do.  You should expect the same in your area.

A willingness to work within your parameters

It’s your property.  It’s your money.  And it’s your vision.  Explain what you want, ask the company owner if he can deliver, and then settle for nothing less.  There are far too many mowing companies out there.  It won’t be that hard to find one which will work within your parameters.

Keith’s Tractor Mowing is the company to call in the Fort Worth area.  We have a proven track record and we welcome scrutiny.
