Most professional brush mowing services will only take on lot mowing of an acre or more. The reason for that is because it is a chore just transporting the tractor/brush mower to the site.  It’s not worth the hassle and effort it takes to get to a customer if that customer simply wants a lawn cut.  Brush mowing companies tackle the big jobs, so keep that in mind.

Should you try it yourself?

There’s always that temptation, you know.  Start up the old mower and the weedwhacker and attack!

Not everyone is qualified for brush mowing, but a great many people, especially in this poor economy, will claim to be qualified. Ask for references and follow-up on those references.  You don’t want Donnie and his cousin Pete brush cutting your property if they have no experience, no equipment, and no insurance.  That’s a headache waiting to happen.
